A successful creative life isn’t defined by output or speed. It’s defined by sustainability over time.
We often talk about careers in the creative industries in terms of income, projects, portfolios, clients, and awards. But a successful life as a creative professional isn’t really defined by how much you produce or how quickly you succeed; it’s about how well you’re able to sustain yourself over time: emotionally, creatively, mentally, and financially.
Living a Creative Life is a conversation about creative and career longevity, real decisions, and meaningful pivots rather than idealized paths. Not a perfect life. Not a linear one. But a creative life that is flexible, intentional, self-directed, and continually evolving.
This panel brings together three people from the Calgary arts and design community, each of whom has built a creative life through different models of practice, authorship, and work.
