We are currently hiring Camp Leaders to join our summer team.

Camp Leaders work collaboratively to support campers in building confidence, independence, and social connection through outdoor and experiential programming.
Position Overview
Camp Leaders work closely with Program Leaders and fellow staff to deliver high-quality camp experiences. As stewards of the camper experience, Camp Leaders are responsible for providing safe supervision, emotional support, and inclusive programming while modelling Camp Tamarack’s core values.
General Responsibilities
· Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to campers at all times
· Ensure the physical, emotional, and social safety of campers
· Act as a positive role model aligned with the values of Camp Tamarack
· Communicate clearly and respectfully with campers, peers, and supervisors
· Adapt to changing camper needs, schedules, weather, and group dynamics
Specific Duties
· Work collaboratively as a member of the Camp Tamarack staff team
· Guide and adapt programs to ensure meaningful, inclusive, and rewarding experiences
· Provide emotional support, encouragement, and positive behaviour guidance
· When not leading sessions, provide group management and individual behaviour support as needed
· Apply problem-solving skills when responding to camper needs or unexpected situations
· Use creativity and innovation to engage campers and adapt activities
· Be familiar with campers’ special needs, medical conditions, dietary concerns, and behavioural considerations (training and support provided)
· Perform Night Duty as required on a rotational basis
· Ensure all safety standards and procedures are consistently followed
· Report accidents or incidents promptly to the Camp Director and Camp Nurse/Medic
· Provide personal care, feeding, toileting, dressing, and bathing for campers as required
· Assist in program planning based on pre-arranged educational or recreational themes
· Support activity set-up and clean-up
· Participate in daily and weekly cleaning routines to maintain a clean camp environment
What You Bring
· Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (or willingness to obtain)
· Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Persons Search
· Clear Child Welfare Check
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
· Adaptability, creativity, and a solution-focused mindset
· A genuine interest in working with children, youth, and people of all abilities
· Availability to attend Staff Orientation: June 22–29, 2026
Contract Details
· Contract Dates: June 22 – August 23, 2026
· Wage: $530 per week
· Includes accommodations for the duration of the contract
· Meals provided during training and camp sessions
· Candidates must be 17+
· Ideally suited for candidates eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs program
