The goals of a Cabin Leader are to create a safe and comforting space during our quiet times and at night, and by a key player in the fun at Camp through are All Camp Experience, Mayhems and Day camps.

Cabin Leaders work as a team with our Camp and Program Leaders to create opportunities for campers to improve their self-confidence and independence, in a supportive and positive environment. As stewards of our campers’ experience, you are responsible for ensuring their health and safety during their time at camp.

What you bring:
β€’ Have valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certificates, or willing to obtain
β€’ 3 References (does not include family members)
β€’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
β€’ A desire to work with children, youth, and people of all abilities.
β€’ Be available for training June 29th – July 4th
General Responsibilities
β€’ To provide leadership and guidance to all campers.
β€’ Supervision and care of campers
β€’ Be a positive role model that exemplifies the values of Camp Tamarack.
Specific Duties
β€’ Work as a member of the community and staff team.
β€’ Provide engaged, and interactive rest hours.
β€’ Perform Night Duty
β€’ Plan and lead our All Camp Experience Activities and Mayhems with the support of the Coordinators
β€’ Providing emotional support and encouragement to campers.
β€’ Be familiar with the special needs, medical conditions, dietary concerns, and/or behavioral problems of the campers and act according to directions provided. (training and support provided)
β€’ Ensure that safety standards and procedures are always maintained
β€’ Report any accidents/incidents to the Camp Director and Camp Nurse/Medic.
β€’ Assist in program planning based on pre-arranged educational/recreational themes.
β€’ Assist in tidying up after activities.
β€’ Ensure the cleanliness of the camp by participating in daily and weekly clean up.
β€’ These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned, and other duties may be assigned as required.

Contract Dates: June 29th – August 24th
Wage: $525/wk. Plus accommodations, and meals
Please note: Candidates must be 17 by the first day of the contract. Ideally in Grade 12
