Post Content: We’re excited to share that applications are now open for three upcoming Indigenous Arts residencies at Banff Centre—each offering space, mentorship, community, and creative exploration across diverse artistic practices.
Story Sharing Residency 2.0
Dates: May 11–29, 2026
A three-week residency supporting Indigenous storytellers developing an existing work. Includes private studio space, faculty workshops, peer circles, guest artist sessions, and opportunities to share works-in-progress. Open to Indigenous storytellers with an active artistic practice.
Deadline: Jan 28, 2026
Indigenous World Dance 3.0
Dates: Aug 4–21, 2026
A redesigned residency for Indigenous dancers from around the world. Participants engage in daily workshops, one-on-one mentorship, collaborative creation, and an informal open studio sharing. Open to Indigenous dancers interested in community, collaboration, and artistic exchange.
Deadline: Feb 4, 2026
Hide Tanning Residency 2026
Dates: Sept 14–Oct 2, 2026
An introductory, hands-on program exploring each stage of traditional hide tanning alongside faculty and cultural knowledge keepers. Includes workshops, cultural learning circles, self-directed studio time, and Open Studios. Open to Indigenous visual artists; two-person collaborative team’s welcome.
