Cartoon Club

Cartoon Club connects people who love cartoons. We hope to provide a space for those interested in critical review of visual media and applying this knowledge to our own work. Our current club president is Vanessa Webster, however we have had consistent members join our meeting and directly involve themselves in both viewing and creating cartoons.

Cartoon Club’s goals are to connect people who enjoy cartoons and even reach people who haven't discovered they love cartoons yet. As a whole we appeal to anyone who’s interested in character/environment/object design and strengthening this community of students of the same interests. Cartoon Club will be an opportunity for members to learn from cartoons and apply it to their studies and future endeavors. We hope to do this through refining their understanding of shape language in character design, simplification and stylization in characters and environments, examining how color and shape help aid in design and how to communicate character personalities or environment tone and even mood.

Cartoon Club will be open for anyone to join and will provide a fun and carefree environment for students who wish to further educate themselves on cartoons and any other specialized area of the medium. Cartoon Club simply wants to be a place where all types of cartoons can be enjoyed and learned from. Find us in room 457 during the lunch hour.
