Who We Are

Launched in 2017 as the Beltline Urban Murals Project, BUMP Festival has grown over the past decade into Calgary’s most expansive public art initiative. Now entering our 10th year, BUMP has reshaped neighbourhoods through cutting-edge installations and progressive public programming, positioning public art as a catalyst for cultural transformation and collective imagination.
In 2026, BUMP entered its next chapter as the BUMP Festival Arts Society, a registered charitable organization. This milestone reflects the scale, care, and community investment that has defined the festival since its inception, while enabling deeper, more sustained engagement with artists, neighbourhoods, and the public. Our charitable status allows us to expand long-term programming, strengthen artist support, and steward public art as essential cultural infrastructure.

Beyond the visual, BUMP fosters artistic discourse and public connection through forward-thinking programs including an Urban Art Conference, Alley Parties, Guided Mural Tours, and workshops. Each initiative reflects our belief that public art can elevate communities, spark dialogue, and challenge conventional uses of space. With an unwavering commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, BUMP continues to platform a wide spectrum of voices, perspectives, and aesthetics, working toward a city where art actively shapes public life.
