Post Content: Are you a student or recent graduate from AUArts looking to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic world of event photography? Look no further! Our Lavish Guests provides stunning black & white on-site portrait services for weddings, galas, and other elevated events. In addition to directing and capturing portraits, we edit, print, and digitally deliver portraits live at events.
We are looking for outgoing, charismatic team members who are looking to hone their portrait shooting and editing skills, love working with people, and thrive in a fast paced and rewarding role.
About Us: With over 13 years of experience running two photography brands in the local events industry, we specialize in providing photo activations and mobile portrait stations at weddings, corporate galas, and other events throughout Calgary and The Bow Valley. Our business completes approximately 160 events per year, offering a fast-paced and exciting work environment.
Training Program: We have developed a comprehensive training program designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills to succeed in planning and executing on site portraits with OUR LAVISH GUESTS. you will receive training in:
• Setup and take down of automated photo activation equipment (photobooth)
• Experience at live events interacting with guests and operating a photobooth
• Training on DSLR and mirrorless cameras, and studio lighting
• Basic studio lighting setup in our mobile portrait station
• Tethered capture of still images
• Basic photo editing using programs such as CaptureOne, Lightroom, and Photoshop
• The fundamentals of posing different types of guests and capturing portraits
• Photo delivery, including printing, and online hosting
Skills Learned: Through hands-on experience, you will have the opportunity to develop skills such as:
• Guest and client interaction live in an active and dynamic event
• Set up and tear down of a mobile portrait studio equipment
• Studio lighting setups
• Experience using photo editing programs and photo hosting software
• Posing subjects in a fast-paced environment
• Planning, executing, and delivering photography to clients

Renumeration: $20/HR while in a training role, with the opportunity to earn $60/HR for fully trained lead photographers and editors.
Requirements to apply:
- Access to your own reliable vehicle
- Comfortable driving at night, in both winter and summer conditions
- Ability to lift 40lbs
- Flexible schedule and availability – most of our events are evening and weekends, and holidays
