Post Content: The Artist as Changemaker Residency is now open for applications!

This paid residency supports socially engaged artists in Calgary who are using their creative practice to explore and influence social change. From September 2025 to April 2026, selected artists will collaborate with a community or organizational partner to focus on a complex issue through art and systems-thinking.

Artists receive a $7,500 grant for their time and materials and participate in monthly learning sessions on social innovation and changemaking. We welcome applications from artists working with communities across sectors, from grassroots collectives to nonprofits to mission-driven businesses.
