Happy 35th Anniversary Show + Sale - Poster Design Call!
This year marks our 35th year of student art markets and Show + Sale programing. We have a lot to appreciate and look back on our time supporting students. Giving them opportunities to display their artwork and participate in sales. To celebrate, we are bringing back a legacy tradition; Student Poster Design Call!
Apply to design this year's Show + Sale poster that will be featured in our promotion! This paid opportunity rings true to our program mission of developing communities and supporting our emerging artists.
This call is for proposals, so a finished design is not required to apply, we are looking for 3-5 art pieces or sketchbook pages that best describe your style and a proposal sketch/drawing/painting/3d sculpture to give us an idea of what direction you would take the poster design. (you can also submit finished works if you think it would work for the poster)
If selected, the artist will work closely with the Show + Sale team to develop the artwork and make sure the poster includes all details shared and discussed before the final poster must be delivered.
Things to avoid
Hate speech, hate symbols, specific nationalistic flags/symbols/icons
Sex symbols or explicit content
Gore or violence
Christmas or other religious holiday symbols (keep it non-denominational we are branded as a “holiday” market)
Your proposed artwork can be anything, but keep in mind we are an emerging artist winter art market!
Timeline
September 20th 11:59pm MST - Deadline to submit
September 21st – Artist selected.
October 1st 11:59pm MST– Final Poster due
Submit your application on the show and sale website, showandsale.ca , under the poster call submission.
