Reporting to the Director, Academic Resources and functionally assigned tasks by the Curator, the Exhibitions and Programs Coordinator and the Educational Art Technician – Exhibitions Preparator, the Casual Designer will:

· Prepare design assets for gallery exhibitions, programs and events; including print materials, vinyl didactics and digital materials including web banners, and digital ads

The successful candidates will have:

· Current Alberta University of the Arts student status in good standing
· Demonstrated interest in contemporary art, art history, public programming, and outreach activitie.
· Excellent literacy in Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
· Excellent communication skills
· Basic knowledge of craft, fine art and design studio practice and/or gallery preparatory skills

We are currently hiring for the 2023-2024 fiscal year (September 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024). Work will ebb and flow with need for design assets but will not exceed 7 hours/day and no more than 1-2 days per week.

This position works out of the IKG office, and remotely.

This position pays an hourly rate of $17.73 plus 6% pay in lieu of vacation. As this position is casual in nature, there will be no guarantee of hours or a regular schedule.
