Post Content: Are you a 2nd/3rd/4th year Photography major looking for an industry-standard paid opportunity that will help you build your portfolio and connect you with the Alberta University of the Arts community? At the AUArts Students’ Association, we are looking for photographers to create branded documentation for the Show + Sale 2023 Winter Market running from November 17-189, 2023.
Applicants must be available for a minimum of one of the three dates:
November 17 from 5pm-9pm.
November 18 from 10am-4pm.
We are looking for a team of 3 photographers to document the event over a three-day period and generate image deliverables within a 2-week period. The Students’ Association will give credit to photographers in print and digital photo usage whenever possible.
General Responsibilities:
· Provide high quality branded images for the Show + Sale 2023 Winter Market
· Complete assignment with professionalism from start to finish
· Sign contracts regarding copyright and licensing with the SA
· Provide invoices as a contract employee
· Provide industry standard JPG files to both the SA programming team in a timely manner
Qualifications:
· Have own camera, lenses, computer, and Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop
· Experience with event photography and portraiture is an asset
· Comfortable with mixed lighting situations
· Have excellent editing and file management workflows
· Ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt to situations
· Self-motivated individual who can effectively prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
Each photographer will be assigned a different day of the event between November 17-189, 2023 and given a brief from our communications team on what images we are looking for. Industry standard renumeration will be $200 for 2 hours of shooting and up to 2 hours of editing for each photographer.
Interested candidates are asked to submit a portfolio with 5-10 images featuring studio, product, or portraiture photography, a CV, and a letter of interest to Leia Guo, Show + Sale Coordinator, at showandsale.sa@auarts.ca by October 20, 2023 at 11pm MST.
