Post Content: BlackFlash Magazine is accepting applications to join our Board of Directors.

BlackFlash fosters critical discourse and thoughtful engagement with contemporary art practice from a distinctive prairie perspective. BlackFlash is published in Saskatoon by Buffalo Berry Press, a registered not-for-profit corporation with charitable status.

Board members commit to a minimum two-year volunteer term and are eligible for reappointment for additional terms at the discretion of the Board. Members will bring leadership, energy, and experience to the organization. The BlackFlash Board of Directors is a working board whose members actively contribute to fundraising and sponsorship, governance, and human resources, among other aspects of the organization. The organization values diverse cultural backgrounds and age groups and strives for balanced gender representation. We are seeking a range of knowledge, skills, and professional backgrounds.

What we’re looking for:

An interest in advocating and promoting contemporary art and small publishing;
Availability of 5 volunteer hours (variable) each month for monthly board meetings and any assigned tasks.
Capacity and/or knowledge to contribute to activities such as fund development, online marketing, grant writing, and bookkeeping.
