Vice-President of Academic Affairs – David McGonigal
My name is David McGonigal, currently going into my fifth year at AUArts in the Painting department. My focus recently has been on film and video, sometimes combined with installation and musical elements.
In my role as Vice-President of Academic Affairs, I am an advocate for the student body concerning institutional academic affairs. This includes institutional development and governance, as well as any questions or concerns you might have regarding the school. If I’m not the right person to help out, I can certainly point you in the right direction.
Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or drop by during my office hours. My office hours during the fall semester are Tuesday 2-4PM and Wednesday 10AM-4PM.
Vice-President of Student Life – Winona Julian
Hi! I’m Winona and I am heading into my fifth year at AUArts in the Media Arts Department. I mostly make video art, but I tend to incorporate sculpture and installation in my work.
My focus in the AUA Student Association is on community and culture, and more specifically student experience! I organize events at AUArts and my goal is to foster a welcoming and inclusive community, as well as advocate for students. Something I am specifically working on this year is to continue the facilitation of sexual violence awareness/policy initiatives around the school.
My email is: email@example.com
If you have any questions or inquiries regarding the work I do for students or are unsure about my role, feel free to send me an email or come by during my Office Hours every Tuesday 2-4PM, Wednesday and Thursday 11AM-4PM.
Vice-President External Relations – Chloe Collins
Hello, my name is Chloe Collins. I am a 4th year ceramics major at AUArts. I have attended AUArts for the past 5 years. I ran for and was elected to the Executive Committee of AUArts SA because, I want to promote and encourage greater mentorship opportunities between Alumni and current students to bridge the gap between emerging and established artists and craftspeople. I also aim to maintain the lines of communication between AUArts and AUArts SA regarding mental health programming at AUArts.
You should contact me if you have questions regarding the student unions and politically adjacent groups that AUArts SA is affiliated with. Or if you have any interest in connecting with a mentor from Calgary’s arts community.
My typical responsibilities include, maintaining mutually beneficial relationships between AUArts SA, AUArts, other student unions and politically adjacent groups. I work to ensure that the policies presented for approval by these groups are aligned with the interests of AUArts SA and those of the student body.
I currently sit on the Board of Directors for ASEC. I am also the AUArts SA representative for CSA and a member of AUArts SA’s Policy Committee.
Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
My fall office hours are: Wednesday 10AM-4PM
President – Rickee-Lee Webster
Hello y’all. My name is Rickee-Lee and I am heading into my second year at AUArts.
I am a creative enthusiast who plays an active role in conceiving and implementing projects both individually and collaboratively. The human spirit motivates my work, either discovering and communicating my own or striving to capture and relay the virtuosity I observe in others.
I ran for the Executive Committee because I genuinely believe that a small group of dedicated individuals can create extraordinary transformations. I see the Student Leadership Council as an excellent way to be part of a team that is involved in student’s lives and has a vision for the progress of both the Alberta University of the Arts and its student; past, present and future.
Please feel free to contact me about any matters with regards to your experience at AUArts. I am in the office for drop in Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9AM-2PM and am flexible to make a meeting time if you email me. I will find the best avenue to bring your concerns to so we can find a resolution together. I look forward to connecting, discussing and working with you.
